2010 All-Stars

So our little Hueytown community comes home with a 2nd, 4th, and 7th place finish in the state tournament. I truly believe this speaks well for the future of Hueytown softball at all levels of play. The foundation of girls softball starts at our park and these kids will filter through our middle and high school programs. It has been a very long season with many ups and downs, but the dedication of these girls, parents, and coaches has made me proud to be part of this program. I was very lucky to have such great set of coaches and parents during the regular and All-Star season this year. The best part of the season was getting to know all these girls and the memories that will never be forgotten. Thanks to Jamie Franklin, Brad Marshall, Jason Kirby, Paul Dabbs, and Brian Meadows for all your help during this All-star season. I also want to thank Kelly Pate for helping with all the Team Mom duties.

I also wanted to congratulate Gary Wray and his 6U team on a great 4th place finish in state along with winning the Pre-Areas. I didnt get to watch any games, but I kept up with you guys and I know you had a gutsy bunch who played with heart and determination. Great Job girls and coaches.

I also want to congratulate Justin Burch and his 8U team on finishing 2nd in state and your Pre-Area wins. I tried to watch several games with this age group but for some reason when I showed up they didnt play up to par. Needless to say I had a couple of parents send me on my way when I showed up to the games. I was in route to the Championship game and before I got there it was already 11-0 so nobody can blame me for that. Now when I arrived the girls rallied and put 10pts on the board. Great job guys.

I dont need to forget about our 12U and 16 & 18U group as these coaches and girls worked just as hard during the season. Thanks Doug and Jill for the effort you guys gave during the season and All-star season. I got to catch a couple of games of the 12U add it looked liked you girls were coming together late and pulled out a couple of games at the area tournament. Keep your heads up and work towards next year.
